1. Set specific goals. What is your motivation for exercise? Having a goal in mind will help keep you motivated. Understanding what you want to accomplish will help you design a fitness program that targets those goals. Goals could include wanting to attain or maintain a healthy weight, to be stronger to increase flexibility, to simply feel better, etc.
2. Make a plan. Once you’ve set specific goals, make a plan to achieve those goals. Do your research and determine what kinds of exercises will help you accomplish what you want. Determine which exercises you will do on what day and when, scheduling specific time to work out. Think holistically when making your plan—don’t forget that overall health encompasses things like getting enough sleep, taking time to be with others, and participate in your favorite hobbies and activities.
